Wednesday, March 14th, 12 noon
Heritage Center
225 West College Street, Murfreesboro

In celebration of Murfreesboro’s Bicentennial “Our Military” month, The Heritage Center of Murfreesboro and Rutherford County presents "'Great Excitement Up': Women and Military Occupation in Murfreesboro during the Civil War".  The lecture is free and open to the public.

Dr. Antoinette van Zelm, historian at the Tennessee Civil War National Heritage Area, brings Murfreesboro and Rutherford County’s Civil War home front to life through the words of three young Confederate women who kept diaries during the Civil War: Alice Ready, Kate Carney, and Emma Lane.
