Tennessee Women in the Civil War Book CoverCHP Programs Manager Antoinette van Zelm is the editor of Tennessee Women in the Civil War , recently published by the Tennessee Historical Society. The book is Volume 8 of Tennessee in the Civil War: The Best of the Tennessee Historical Quarterly , a series edited by CHP Director Carroll Van West and sponsored in part by the Tennessee Civil War National Heritage Area and the Tennessee Civil War Sesquicentennial Commission.

Tennessee Women in the Civil War contains eleven articles that chronicle Tennessee women’s experiences before, during, and after the war. First-hand accounts, biographical sketches, in-depth analyses, and a set of illustrations tell the tale of women’s varied and dramatic encounters with the war and its stunning consequences.
