New Exhibit Panels for the Clay County Courthouse

On Thursday, November 8, Center staff and students traveled to Celina, Tennessee, to set up nine bannerstand exhibit panels at the historic Clay County Courthouse. The theme of the exhibit is “Flowing Through Time Along the Upper Cumberland: Life in Clay County.” In addition to an introductory panel, the exhibit features eight topics, including the Free Hill community, the Civil War, Cordell Hull, Native Americans, and the courthouse itself. The result of a professional services partnership with the Upper Cumberland Development District, the exhibit project follows up on previous Center projects, including a preservation needs report for the Free Hill Community Center and a heritage development plan for the courthouse.
