This spring, Dr. Stacey Graham, research professor at the Center, is using a public service grant from MTSU for three hands-on workshops to train graduate students and community members in basic historic cemetery preservation. In the initial workshop, shown to the left, Jason Church of the National Center for Preservation Technology and Training taught participants the basics of cemetery cleaning, repair, and maintenance at Old City Cemetery in Murfreesboro. Participants in this initial workshop will then share these methods in two follow-up workshops, working with communities in Columbia and Alexandria.
