Farming 101: Students Learn about Preservation and a 20th-Century Farm Family

DSCN0149_opt In partnership with Metro Nashville Parks, students in Dr. Van West’s Seminar in Historic Preservation class have been working on a project in Davidson County, Tennessee.   The John H. Moore Farm is approximately 400 acres and started as a general farm in the early 20 th century and then later moved to primarily dairy production.  Metro Parks acquired the property for a new park, and students developed needs assessment and preservation plans for the property as part of their class.  Jenny Andrews, one of our GRAs, has been working on the history of the property and will continue to work on the project this summer for her internship.
