Tennessee Civil War National Heritage Area Hosts National Park Service Program Manager

Tennessee Civil War National Heritage Area (TCWNHA) staff and students recently hosted Elisa Kunz from the National Park Service (NPS). Kunz serves as National Heritage Areas program manager for the NPS’s Southeast Regional Office in Atlanta. TCWNHA director Dr. Carroll Van West and federal liaison Laura Holder, along with some of our graduate research assistants, escorted Kunz across the state to meet with TCWNHA partners at a variety of sites. Among their visits were Fort Negley in Nashville, Carter’s Hill Battlefield and the McLemore House in Franklin, the Hiwassee River Heritage Center in Charleston, downtown Jackson, and Parker’s Crossroads Battlefield in Henderson County (shown here).
