The Center is thrilled for one of our partners, the African American Heritage Society of Williamson County, which recently announced plans to purchase the historic Merrill-Williams House on Natchez Street in Franklin to create a public learning space. The home is a centerpiece of the Natchez community and will serve as a locus for the study of African American history. The home is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is currently under an “option to purchase,” which will allow the AAHSWC time to raise the funds needed to purchase and preserve the home.
As part of his residency for the Ph.D. Program in Public History at MTSU, Robby Kurtz trained for his license in using a drone.
